I’ve been a busy little bee designing a whole bunch of free printable valentine tags. While most of the free printables are in full color, I thought a black and white version of some tags would be nice. Mostly for anyone who doesn’t have a color printer or wants to save on ink, but also because black and white tags are just clean and classy!

Free black and white valentine gift tag printables

These free printable Valentine’s Day gift tags include a variety of different designs and sentiments. Some say Happy Valentine’s Day, some have a spot to write who it’s to/from, and some just have simple heart images with no text at all.

The free PDF file contains all four pages of these free printable gift tags. Just choose the one you like best and make sure you tell your printer to only print that page.

You can print these tags as many times as you want for personal use! They add the perfect personal touch to a small gift or Valentine’s Day party favor.

Sweet treats–whether homemade, from a bakery, or your recipient’s favorite snacks from the grocery store–are always welcome. Wrap in a cute treat bag, gift bag, or bakery box.
You can’t go wrong with a lip balm set, especially in cold February weather. Add my absolute-favorite hot chocolate mug and some cute fuzzy socks while you’re at it!
This Lego heart ornament is so much fun for both kids and kids at heart. If your recipient is into building their own gift, this Lego bouquet would also be a lot of fun.
If you’re fans of the movie Up (and that adorably-romantic and then heartbreaking opening scene), you need to gift your partner this Adventure Book! This journal also makes a really sweet gift.
This is more of a gag gift, but I totally want to gift my husband these socks for Valentine’s Day! Then when we’re walking next to each other, our socks can hold hands. 😍 These ones are even valentine-themed!
Okay, I also really love this “little sign to say I love you”…it would make a great desk decoration for a coworker or boyfriend/girlfriend/spouse who works in an office.
If you’re crafty, homemade gifts can be very thoughtful for the right person. The “made with love” printable tag is the perfect tag for something handmade!
If you want to go even simpler, just grab a gift card to your recipient’s favorite restaurant, drink shop, or store. (If you’re making teacher Valentine’s gifts, I think Amazon and Target gift cards are always appreciated.)

How to customize these black and white tags

I love these black and white Valentine’s Day gift tags as is, but if you wanted to add some color, it would be very easy to do. You could:

use glitter glue to “color in” or highlight different elements of the tag design
print the tags on watercolor paper and fill in with watercolors
layer the printed tags on colored cardstock that’s cut just a little larger than the tag to “frame” it
print on colored paper instead of white card stock
have your child color the tags with crayons if you’re using them for classroom valentines

How to use these free valentine printables

Tips for printing: Make sure your printer settings are set to scale 100%, select borderless printing, and print at a high quality. For best results, print on white card stock.

Once printed, you can use a paper cutter or scissors to cut the tags out. Punch a hole at the top of the tag with a hole punch and tie to your gift with a piece of ribbon, baker’s twine, or curling ribbon.
