Easy Easter Tablescape Ideas

Looking for simple and charming Easter tablescape ideas? From pastel tablecloths to DIY bunny basket favors, here’s how I decorated our Easter table for a festive holiday gathering!

I loved hosting Easter dinner this year (well, technically it was last year as of writing this because I’m slow to post about it). It was so fun having family over to enjoy a home-cooked meal and remember the true reason for celebrating this spring holiday.

Of course, my favorite part of hosting is decorating! I was a little short on time, what with prepping a full holiday meal, so these Easter tablescape ideas are simple. But still a lot of fun and I received lots of compliments!

Keep reading for all the fun ideas, as well as sources for the cute decorations and homemade Easter favors.

What to include in your Easter tablescape

Here are some fun things to include when decorating your own Easter table:

a pastel or floral-print tablecloth

I prefer a fabric or linen tablecloth when hosting a nice meal, especially when using fine china, but I’ve seen some cute vinyl tablecloths at Walmart and other places around Easter.

fine china and silver

If you own a china set, this would be the holiday to use it! We tend to reserve china for only the most fancy occasions, but then we don’t actually give our beautiful sets the attention they deserve. Make this Easter a special occasion and whip those dishes out!

And if you don’t own a china set and still want to be fancy, try one of these faux china sets–so many cute styles to choose from!

an Easter centerpiece

This could be a floral arrangement, decorations you already have on hand, or a bed of Easter grass and dyed eggs. A table runner makes a great backdrop for a centerpiece, too!

cloth napkins & napkin rings

If I had had more time, I would’ve made some nicer DIY napkin rings, but something like these would also be adorable.

place cards

To make Easter dinner extra fancy, make place cards to set at each place setting with the names of your guests. It’ll make them feel so special!

candy or dinner mint favor boxes

Something my grandma always included at holiday dinners was mini muffin liners with a mixture of dinner mints and peanuts. As a kid, those little details made the day magical for me. My grandma was also the inspiration for my DIY bunny basket favors!

My Easter tablescape

the perfect Easter tablecloth

I will always and forever love gingham. It is the perfect pattern for spring! I knew I wanted a pastel blue gingham tablecloth (mostly to match my blue floral Limoges china, which was a very kind wedding gift from my aunts). Surprisingly, blue gingham is harder to find than you think (at least in this exact shade of baby blue).

I was able to find this tablecloth and it was perfect when I first set it out, but then I washed it…and it shrunk terribly and wrinkled a ton. Even after pressing it twice (with water and steam!), you could still see wrinkles. Oh well, at least it was clean and free of the factory chemical smells.

Sometimes Walmart sells blue gingham tablecloths, so if you ever see one, snatch it! I also think a yellow gingham tablecloth like this would be very sweet for Easter. Of course, you could go the floral route too.

simple Easter centerpiece

My kitchen table is narrow, so I was a little limited on what kind of centerpiece I could do, but I think it turned out okay.

I wanted to find a faux grass table runner, but they were either too expensive or my store didn’t have them (good places to look are Hobby Lobby, Michaels, or even Dollar Tree). So, I used two sheets of stiff green felt instead. They served their purpose of setting the centerpiece decorations apart from the rest of the table.

My centerpiece decorations also included a faux grass plant from IKEA that I had on hand (you could plant your own Easter grass in fun containers if you think far enough ahead), ceramic and flocked moss bunnies, egg figurines, and painted paper mache eggs (a craft project from years ago–these wood eggs would be even more fun to paint). I also cut a few tiny flowers out of white cardstock with my Cricut for a little bit of confetti.

bunny napkin fold

To fold cloth napkins into a bunny shape, fold on the diagonal, matching up opposite corners. Then roll into a skinny tube, starting from the long folded edge and going towards the points. Pull both ends through a napkin ring, shaping the napkin to form “bunny ears” and a rounded loop (maybe the head? body?). If you want, place an Easter egg inside each loop–you could write names on them with white crayon then dye them and use this as your place card!

easy DIY Easter basket favors

My most favorite part of this Easter table were the homemade favors: paper Easter baskets with bunny faces on them. I put some mini candy bars in them and set one at each place setting. You can get the full Easter basket favor tutorial HERE.
