Free Printable Teacher Appreciation Gift Tags
These cute teacher appreciation gift tags are perfect for all your teacher gifts, any time of the year! Get the instant download and add one of these adorable tags to your gift for that personal touch!
Teacher appreciation week snuck up on me this year. Mostly because my son isn’t actually in school yet, but he does go to the elementary for speech therapy. I still wanted to come up with a little gift to give his speech therapist, so I made a quick end of the school year gift instead!
And, because I needed a gift tag and you might as well benefit as well, I whipped up some free printable teacher appreciation tags for you to download and use on your own teacher gifts!
Small gifts with a cute gift tag are the perfect way to say thank you to your child’s teacher and all their hard work over the school year!
You can use these tags for teacher appreciation day or week, at the beginning of the year or end of year, a teacher Christmas gift, for bus drivers and support staff, or even a former teacher of your own that you want to thank.

These cute tags include bright colors and fun school-themed graphics. They’re perfect for teacher thank you gifts, a plant or flower gift (with the “thank you for helping me grow” tag), a cookie gift (with the “thanks for making me one smart cookie” tag), treat gifts, or summer gifts.
The FREE printable PDF contains all 8 tag designs, which you can download for free below. However, if there’s a particular design you’d like a full sheet of, you can purchase the full file that contains the mixed sheet as well as individual sheets of each tag (it’s inexpensive but just a little something to help compensate me for my time, so I appreciate you!).
Treat ideas to go with these free printable teacher tags
- cookies or a gift card to Crumbl or similar cookie shop (use the cookie gift tag!)
- a candy bar, or put several in a tumbler or dollar store cup like I did (I added dollar store sunglasses and a bow for decoration): I realize this is on the cheaper side, but I was partly being sensitive to the other speech student who attends at the same time and whose mom I know can’t afford to do teacher gifts. Either way, I know my son is going to be so excited to give this gift to his teacher!
- a mini bundt cake or a cupcake from a bakery
- an assortment of small candies in an easy DIY gift box like this
- a pack of soda
- a Starbucks gift card or gift card to another drink shop (though I hear this is overdone, so teachers may be burned out on this one…I’m not a coffee drinker, but personally I could never say no to Fiiz…)
Sometimes schools will put together lists of teacher’s favorite treats and things, which is a great way to make an even more customized gift!
Other cute teacher appreciation gift ideas
- a small plant or succulent (use the “thanks for helping me grow” gift tag!)
- a tote bag full of summer goodies: beach towel, sunglasses, sunscreen, tumbler and drink mix, etc. (use the summer gift tag!)
- a gift card for a massage or spa day
- personalized stationery with the teacher’s name on it
- tickets to a local movie theater
- something handmade
- a Target or Amazon gift card (most teachers appreciate these, but they can be a little overdone)
- a Visa gift card or cash is even easier/sometimes more requested
- a gift card “tree”: if you can pool resources with other parents, make a gift card tree with lots of different stores/places that the teacher can use throughout the year
I recommend steering clear of candles and hand creams/lotions. As nice as they might seem, teachers get more than they know what to do with and anyone with sensitivities/allergies won’t be able to use them. If you do want to do lotion, aim for high quality and fragrance-free (I realize this might be a personal soap box, no pun intended, since I suffer from eczema…but seriously, fragrances aren’t great for you, haha).
Another overdone gift to skip might be mugs. A teacher can only have so many, ya know?
If you’re on a budget, there’s no need to make an extravagant gift basket or anything like that (though you definitely can if you want to and have the means). But usually it’s the little gifts or the handmade, thoughtful gifts that are most meaningful!
Don’t forget to add a personal note to your gift tag (or make an additional card) letting that special teacher know how much they mean to you and your child. My most favorite teacher from elementary school reached out to me a few years ago (almost 20 years later) saying she found a sweet note I gave her in her first year teaching. She had kept it all these years and said it had made her day to come across it again.
You could also include a photo of your child in the gift. And if your child is too little to write their own note, at least have them sign the gift tag if possible!
How to use these free printable gift tags
Note: These gift tags are for personal use only and may not be shared, sold, or distributed, in whole or in part. Please do not share this PDF file or the download link–they are for personal use only. Please share a link to this blog post instead!
Tips for printing: Make sure your printer settings are set to scale 100% and print at a high quality. For best results, print on white cardstock.
Once printed, you can use a paper trimmer or scissors to cut the tags out. Punch a hole at the top of the tag with a hole punch and tie to your gift with ribbon, baker’s twine, or yarn.
To get even more use out of these printable teacher gift tags, you could crop them and attach to a handmade card. Feel free to print at any size to fit your needs!
